Polyolefins are a family of plastics derived from propylene and ethylene. They make up the highest volume of thermoplastic products in the world. They form tough, flexible plastics with a large variety of uses.
Research and development are increasing the variety of polyolefins. As a result, they are steadily replacing traditional materials in many applications. What’s more, polyolefins are generally easy to recycle.

SABIC to add pharmaceutical grades to its European polyolefins portfolio
SABIC is to launch in Europe a new family of special polyethylene grades for the European pharmaceutical packaging industry, as of 1st July 2008. The new grade family will comprise 7 new SABIC® LDPE and 2 SABIC® HDPE grades.
