SABIC® PP & Maxi Cosi
Who doesn’t know the world-famous Maxi-Cosi car seats? It is synonym for safety and design. We as SABIC Europe are proud to supply the polypropylene which gives the required properties to the Maxi-Cosi car seats and push chairs.
Maxi-Cosi, part of DOREL Netherlands, and SABIC Europe are already working together for years. Our relation with their engineering, production and quality departments is very close. Last year this resulted in the introduction of a new SABIC® PP block copolymer which is being used now for the complete Maxi-Cosi range.
All Maxi-Cosi car seats meet the most recent and strictest European Safety ECE R44/03 standard. To meet this standard the polypropylene body must provide very high impact resistance combined with a good stiffness level. Besides, the raw material should have good flow properties, necessary to fill the complex shaped molds. Finally aesthetic properties are important to give the product a nice surface appearance.
