Dacia Logan enjoys an excellent beginning
December 8, 2004
Between its launch in September 2004 and the end of November 2004, the Dacia Logan has sold 19,015 cars and secured a further 11,830 orders. With a total of 30,845 sales and orders taken in just six countries, including its home market of Romania, the Dacia Logan has enjoyed an excellent start in all the markets in which it is on sale.In its main market, Romania, Logan is already Dacia’s second most popular model in 2004, having sold 14,751 examples after only three months on sale. In November, Logan was the topselling car in Romania, with 4 304 sales. Dacia sales profited from this excellent start, with an increase of 32% in its sales at the end of October 2004, with nearly 75,000 cars sold.
Logan has enjoyed equally good results on its export markets, which represented 22% of all Logan sales so far in 2004. Only on sale for two months in Croatia (October 1), Serbia, Macedonia and Slovakia (October 14), Hungary (October 16), the Czech Republic (October 30) and Turkey (November 19), Logan has realised a remarkable performance with 4,264 cars sold.
Sales of 2,456 in November alone made it Dacia’s top selling export model that month. Logan’s strong sales performance will be supported by the additional 11,830 further orders by the end of November, with 9,500 of these orders made by Romanian customers and 2,330 from export markets. To meet this order level, the Dacia factory in Pitesti (Romania) expects to introduce three shifts in early 2005.
The next countries to commercialise Logan will be Syria, Slovenia, Poland, Lebanon and the Baltic countries. Logan will also be commercialised in Western Europe from the middle of 2005.
