The following tables give information on chemical resistance of polypropylene, the so called Environmental Stress Cracking Resistance (ESCR). The factor evaluated is the resistance to chemical attack during exposure to particular media at 20°C and 60°C. Several factors affect the actual ESCR, such as:
The qualifications given in the tables hold for SABIC® PP grades (hompolymer, impact copolymer and random copolymer) in general. The particular grade to be chosen depends on the application, and it will often be seen that the actual performance is better than indicated in the tables. |
